Africa needs more weather tools, says agency

Africa needs eight times more meteorological stations to effectively combat climate change and provide timely and accurate forecasts, the World Meteorological Organisation (WMO) said.  “Africa currently has 1,400 meteorological stations, eight times less than what we require,” said the assistant Secretary-General of the WMO, Ms Elena Manenkova.  Ms Manenkova was briefing journalists at a conference of the UN Economic Commission for Africa in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia...  Full Article
