Dr Al Mandous is the Permanent Representative of UAE with WMO since 2008 and President of the Regional Association for Asia since 2017.

He is a member of WMO’s Executive Council and has been chair of the Panel on Tropical Cyclones. He is a member of the Permanent Committee for Meteorology of League of Arab States, and a member of the Gulf Cooperation Council on Meteorology.v.

Dr Al Mandous takes over the Presidency immediately after the World Meteorological Congress. The United Arab Emirates hosts the UN Climate Change conference COP28 in December this year.
