Addressing delegates to the 2nd Africa Climate Smart Agriculture Alliance that took place in  Nairobi, Kenya from 11-13 October, the Director of Programs at the NEPAD Agency, Estherine Fotabong noted that “climate change represents one of the greatest environmental, social and economic threats facing us today. It is a major threat to the attainment of the sustainable development goals as well as the African Union’s Agenda 2063.”According to the deputy Regional Representative of the FAO for Africa,Abebe Haile Gabriel, Africa “rain-fed,small holder agriculture yield could reduce by up to 30-50% in the next few years as a result of climate change.”Such effects are bad for a world whose food needs have continued to rise, as the world has to produce 70% more food to feed 9 billion people by 2050.Source:http://crtv.cm/fr/latest-news/journal-national-1/nepad-pitches-agricultu...
