Norway doubles African climate support

Norway has increased funding to help strengthen Africa’s climate services. The move is part of a global framework being led by the World Meteorological Organization (WMO).  

Upped from NOK 60 million to NOK 120 million (some USD 19.66/EUR 14.57/GBP 12.14 millioin), it is to help the poorer population deal with the effects of climate change.

“This is a pioneering program that will strengthen the government's ability to plan for climate change and disaster management. In particular, it will help enable vulnerable populations to meet the challenges of climate change locally better,” Foreign Minister Børge Brende said in a statement.  Full Article
