Liberia: Ministry of Transport, Partners Hold Meteorology Strategic Plan
Monrovia – On Thursday, January 24 several stakeholders gathered to hold Liberia’s meteorological service (LMS) national strategic plan, which aims at reviving and making it autonomous. Sirleaf Tyler, Deputy Minister of Transport for Insurance, said the strategic plan will improve and set the gateway for the Liberian meteorology service to go autonomous thereby providing the services and products that are needed to enhance the ‘pro-poor agenda’. He said the strategic plan will help improve meteorologist which is key to flight safety, agriculture and general meteorology in Libera. LMS comes as a result from efforts made by Liberian delegation that represented Liberia at the World Bank hydromet forum held in Addis Ababa in September 2017.
